Background and Experience

After graduating from Texas A&M University, Doug immediately became the President of Greenspoint Nursery, Inc., a landscape service, retail outlet, plant leasing and floral design company. In 1983, he became Texas Certified Nurseryman #694. He received Texas Irrigator License #1830 in 1984. After selling Greenspoint Nursery, Doug established Irrigation Services, Inc. designing and installing residential and commercial irrigation systems. Doug currently designs irrigation systems throughout the United States and Mexico. In 1997, Doug became a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) approved instructor for Basic Irrigation Training and Continuing Education classes focusing primarily in CAD.

John S. DeCell

Education

Background and Experience

After five years in the banking industry as a loan officer and Vice President, John's career in the green industry began in 1987 as an irrigation contractor. He received his Texas Irrigators License #3466 in January of 1988. John spent several years in Southern California as an irrigation consultant winning awards for his design work including the Rain Bird Care Award. Because of his concern for quality, efficiency, and water conservation, he began developing software programs to assist landscape and irrigation professionals with their design and water management needs. Current software programs include RainCAD™ and Pro Contractor Studio™ for irrigation and landscape design, and Irricalc™ for irrigation scheduling and water management capabilities.

James Stergar

Background and Experience

James began honing his computer programming skills while attending Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas from 1994 to 1996. He worked in the sign industry as a graphics artist until May of 1997 when he came to work at Software Republic as a web designer and programmer.

James has spent more than twenty years developing landscape and irrigation design programs including RainCAD™, the industry leader in irrigation design. James has a full working knowledge of C#, Visual Basic .NET, ASP .NET, IIS System Administration, MS SQL Server Administration, and HTML.
